About CHE
CHE is the largest sloop-rigged catamaran and the second largest sailing multihull in the world. With her 114 feet of length and 42 feet of beam, she is a veritable jewel of the seas!
CHE means freedom. Made to sail the oceans in superior comfort and security, she is the utmost example of seaworthiness proven by her unique construction and navigability features.
Facts
The navigation station lies forward on the fybridge and affords fantastic 360° degree views. This is clearly an ideal position from which to manoeuvre the vessel, engines, thrusters and prop pitch can all be controlled from here.. CHE cruises easily at 12 knots on just 65 percent engine capacity and to conserve fuel she will make nine knots with one engine.
The owner of CHE: "The 13-metre beam means there is practically no heeling or rolling when the yacht is at anchor. Even on choppy seas the cruising is smooth and easy for those who are unfamiliar with sailing. At the same time, the size of CHE and her low draught make fast sailing possible, reaching 13-14 knots and more with good winds."

Guests’ home-from-home: Crew’s workplace
One of CHE’s most noticeable features is the blurring of the distinction between crew and guest areas. The result is overwhelmingly positive – cunningly clever design means that guests still retain privacy while the crew are not impeded in their work. The exemplar of this is the wonderfully spacious saloon which shares the main deck with the state-of-the-art galley. And this bold idea really works: a kitchen is the heart of any home, and CHE’s galley brings the centre of the yacht alive. Guests can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the chef’s creativity, and can freely wander in for a tempting taste - or draw the blinds and relax, depending on their mood.
The saloon’s wide spaces also allow the guests to examine nautical charts or check out the array of instruments in the bridge which merges with the forward part of the saloon. This is wonderful for keen sailors or those who enjoy being part of the voyage – this is no water-taxi ride...
Indoor: Outdoor living
An array of spaces for relaxing and dining al fresco are a clear sign that CHE’s guests will spend most of their time outside as they enjoy secluded tropical anchorages. And great care has been taken to draw the outdoors within for those times when weather or fine dining drives you inside – CHE is definitely not a yacht whose interior resembles a country house. Instead she is a sophisticated beach villa: the cabin soles are smooth hardwood, and the colour scheme reflects the sea’s moods from storm grey through to bright aqua.
The main saloon is surrounded by glass so the ocean is only ever a glance away, and the cabins boast large portholes allowing you to watch the waves rushing past just inches away from the comfort of your bed... All of this conspires to remind you that you’re at sea, that fresh air and exhilarating views are just a heartbeat away.
Swift sailing: comfortable cruising
Received wisdom tells us that fast sailing yachts are lumpy, uncomfortable craft; and relaxed cruising can only be achieved aboard heavy motor-sailers (whose sails are usually only raised for publicity shots.) Once more CHE tears up the rule book. Her lean hulls and dizzying rig point to a serious sailboat, and she can harness the wind to achieve 20knots. But she is no rocking horse - the largest sloop-rigged catamaran in the world when she was launched, her massive 13m beam gives her a lot of stability. Plus a seemingly endless array of soft lounging areas and soporifically snug single bunks means she is very, very comfortable.
CHE is an ideal choice for those who long to enjoy the romance of sail but have always played it safe with a motor yacht for the sake of an easy ride. With her cutting-edge carbon rig and multiple headsails, CHE will easily take on ocean passages and explore the most exciting and exclusive yachting destinations. Her relatively shallow draft and superb vantage point that is her flybridge make her ideal for exploring Pacific atolls and distant reefs. CHE is a thoroughbred horse who comes alive under sail – she is no high-end motorbike of a yacht that zooms from port to port – she is a living breathing experience that you can become part of. Whether you seek sailing thrills, or complete relaxation you can find this aboard CHE. She is a genuinely interactive yacht, whose crew will work with you to achieve your dream vacation.
